STRIPS FOR AFRICA

This is an appeal for any old football strips to send to the Catholic welfare Development, who are charity organisation working in the Shanty Tows of South Africa. They would like to form a St Mungo’s Shamrock Celtic Cape Town Football Club. The kinds are desperately poor and would greatly appreciate our help. If you can help, leave your strips in the box in the porch. Further details from Tom Hume

150th Anniversary of the parish of St Mungo’s, Alloa

Our parish of St Mungo’s was founded 150 years ago and though it was 10 years after that date that Alloa had its first resident priest, Bishop Logan will celebrate the founding and institution of the parish with a CONCELEBRATED MASS on Friday 19 September 2003, at 7.00 p.m., followed by a CEILIDH in Alloa Town Hall. On Monday 12 May, in the Hall, at 7.30 p.m., there will be a meeting for anyone interested in being part of the Organising Group for the celebrations. Please make an effort to come to this meeting and share your ideas and help form an Organising Committee. Suggestions are welcome. We would hope to publish an up to date history of the parish and produce some celebration souvenirs.
